Designed by Joan Antoni Blanc
Joan Antoni Blanc is considered one of the pioneers in the application of design to industrial development in Spain. His creations are characterised by their functionality, versatility and serial production, without forgetting social content and sustainability. In 1971 he founded Estudi Blanc together with Pau Joan Vidal. Joan Antoni Blanc collaborated with institutions such as the FAD, the BCD and the ADP, of which he was director. Some of his designs were awarded the ADI-FAD Delta Awards.
Colección Cilindre - Luxcambra
The "Parabólica" suspension lamp, winner of the 1973 ADI-FAD awards, was designed by Joan Antoni Blanc with the intention of creating a lampshade with the ideal geometry for projecting light efficiently. The parabola is the most favourable shape for this purpose, provided that the interior light source is correctly positioned; a condition that makes it necessary to generate a space above it for its incorporation. The fusion of these two concepts configures the silhouette of the "Parabolic".
